shifter difference?
« on: Jul 07, 2013, 12:24:11 PM »
So I have what I think is a w56 tranny but don't have a shifter for it. On the shop page I don't see a billet shifter for it. What ones will work for it?

As in a billet shifter base? We currently do not have them for that style trans. Only the g-series and the r-series transmissions.

Yeah the billet ones. So the g series won't work with the w series?

Aaron,

What do you mean by an aftermarket shifter? Zack is referring to a short throw shifter kit. Are you looking for an aftermarket replacement shift lever? Perhaps an all aluminum shift level? Or one without the stock rubber insulator? Or one with a different bend to it?

Thanks
Mike

i just need a shifter. I picked up a tranny last week which i was told was a r150 but looks like a w56. It didnt have a shifter with it and the one i currently have (r150) will not fit in this tranny (w56).

Looks like a W56  A or B to me.........

A if the center plate between the two halves is aluminum

B if the center plate is iron
