Topic: 1 gen 4runner body on 85 pickup.

hello everyone,
i am in need of assistance. I am planing to do 1st gen 4runner body on my 85 pickup. the swap should go fairly easy other than the engines. the 4runner is a (dead)v6 and my truck is a 22r. im not very good with wiring other than really simple stuff. what can i expect with this swap?

Plan on using all of the 4 runner wiring, as much as possible. You may also have some issues with body mounts. It may not be a big deal to cut and relocate mounts as needed. Take your time, take pictures, and post up if you hit a snag. Marlin guys have tried and done almost everything. Do It!

Okay, will I have to splice the 22r engine harnass with the 4runner harnass?

the 22r doesnt have much of an engine harness.

youll need to eliminate some v6 engine wires that arent in use

Just swap the harness. the pickup into the runner.

he'll have to splice into the 4runner harness for the lights n stuff. i say find an entire carb'd 4runner harness to swap in.

Definitely just find another harness for a carb 22r and swap it in.
