Removing a dashboard
« on: Feb 25, 2013, 04:59:34 AM »
I have a 1987 Toyota Pickup regular cab. I can get the cluster out and almost all of the dash board except towards the passenger side window. There seems to be a screw or something holding onto the dashboard. Does anyone know how to get a dashboard out? Thank you.

there are some hidden bolts in there, you need to remove the glovebox to access them

There is a bolt with a 10mm head on it behind the passenger air vent. You have to reach up behind the dash and squeeze the metal tabs on the air vent to release it. Then you can access the bolt.

Here is an excerpt from the Factory Service Manual. It shows all of the bolts that must be removed.
