3rz differences
« on: Mar 26, 2013, 10:34:38 AM »
Can anyone tell me if a 98 T100 3rz is interchangeable with a 99 Tacoma 3rd? I have the chance to swap a slightly built Tacoma 3rz into my truck, I currently have a 98 t100 3rz. I noticed they both run the dual coils, what else might be different?

Should bolt right up. Only thing that I wonder about that may be different is the throttle cable set-up.

Good call. I could always swap those.

The oil pan, oil pick up tube and dipstick/dipstick tube are different too.

If he is running solid front axle, he would already have the rear sump pan set-up. When I did my swap, I ordered a kit from LC. All new parts, OEM.

Yup, this Taco had an SAS and the T100 oil pan setup. So I guess the 2nd Gen 3rz is the same across all models? At least the long block, equipment and sensors?

Yep. Should be straight swap.
