L43 transmission

my L43 transmission shifter is hitting my oil and amp gauges when i shift to 1st and 3rd.  also when im in 4LO i cannot shift into 2nd gear as the transmission and transfercase shifters hit.  can i rotate the tranny shifter?  i want to try to rotate so it doesn't hit the gauges or transfer case shifter.

my friend actually fixed most of the slop already but i still have this problem so i thought i'd ask this board while he tries yotatech.

yotatech is a joke......

are there shifter bushing you can replace?

are they aftermarket guages?

yota tech is alright. each forum has it's + and -. 

i checked the bushings and the ball bushing is small and there is a little groove in it but it's not that bad.  we tightened up the bolts which hold the side shifter and that improved the crispnesss of the shifting but it still hits the gauges.  oh, the gauges are the stock SR5 ones that go in the stock location.  the housing holds amp and oil gauges.  so yeah, not aftermarket. 

the shifter itself is angled about halfway up the handle.  a very obtuse angle so i guess somewhere around 170 degrees?  i was thinking if i can rotate the shifter handle 180 degrees i can possibly clear the gauge housing.  it's at an angle like this:
