Good source for carrier bearings?
« on: Mar 24, 2012, 02:15:22 PM »
Anyone know a good place to get carrier bearings, just the bearings? I asked the Marlin guys if they sell them separate from a kit, and they don't so I hope I am not stepping on their toes here. Tried going through my local dealer and he kind of gave me the run around about it. I'm specifically looking for the larger ID one, front diff, that they used on the V6 models. The dealer said he though the would be around $50, so if y'all don't think I can find them for a better price online, I'll jut go back to him and struggle through to a solution.

FWIW, since my diff is not original to my truck, the guy was giving me a hard time saying he'd need the VIN so he knew which one to get for me. I did not have bearing with me at the time, but I presume if I took it to him he could look it up by the NACHI part #?

I never buy kits, I always source bearings.  I fall under a resale permit, so its cheaper.  My personal experience is using an industrial supply.  They can look it up by bearing #, and cross reference to any manufacturer.  For KOYO/Nachi, I use Applied Industrial Technologies.  Motion Industries carries them too.  Good luck.

If you have a part number (toyota or whatever):

Timken cross-reference PDF

Once you have a timken number, you can search inside the pdf for other possible cross-references.......

Then check rock auto.
