third member questions

loose pinion in my third member is this supposed to be this way when you remove your flange or is there a blown bearing in my third member

If it's stock it could be a bad crush sleeve. Pretty vague question though...

it has about 1/2in of play not in and out but side to side up and down when i remove the flange

So you took off the nut and pulled the flange and it moves side to side a 1/2"? Probably a bad bearing then.

Do the bearings, seals and get a crush sleeve eliminator.
