It might be OK where it is. It will be subject to more water that way. If you are in CA it probobly will be fine. Be sure it is covered behind it from tire spray.

yeah i was thinking i would seal the box to the mounting plate with silicone.  and maybe welding some sort of guard around it.
i mounted it there to keep it as incunspicuas as possible(theft prevention) and to keep the radiator open for air flow.

I feel the best solution is to mount the solenoid box under the hood and extend the wires so the plug/receptacle can be mounted on the bumper/grill somewhere. It's a pretty easy mod and it is the best way to go all around

Extend the main power wires.  :o :o That could get pricey   How about getting a momentary on DPDT switch and mount it in the dash  8)  Then get some small wires for the controller and rewire the switch. Then there will be no need to get out the controller. BTW I wired in another switch to override so my daughter would not accidently "use" it.

another route i was thinking about is taking the sylinoids out of the box and mounting them directley to the rad. support behind the grill then building a new cover and bring the control recepticale oout to the grill or bumper.

Getting longer cables isn't that costly. I'd say about 10-15 dollars at your local parts store or Wal Mart
