Here in the PNW. I might need A/C twice a year. If I lived in Texas, I would not only keep it but upgrade it as much as I could lol.

So if you don't ever need it, take it out less crap to break/worry about.

You live in CA, at some point you are going to need it, also, if you decide to sell it, you wont get as much for it w/o the A/C.

If it needs to be recharged you can either convert to R134, or use any of the replacement refrigerants like Maxifrig.

Keep it. im in Fresno and are trails get hot. plus  you can drive with the windows up when its dusty out an stay cool. Keep it r12, it gets so much colder.

Kinda in the same spot with my truck. Not sure if it works or not cause i bought the truck with the motor messed up in it but i never run a/c but when we built the motor in my camaro we left it off and now i wish i had it lol
