What kind of tranny do you got in it if its an auto you could get by with 4.88's but if its a standard i would deff go with 5.13's.
If it was me i would want the 5.13's eather way because its just a lower crawl ratio and all you would give up is a lil gas mpg because you running at higher rpms on the highway.
good luck eather way

Thanx Thumper....It's a 5 speed,and gas MPG isn't really a concern.It's not a daily driver,so it doesen't see much highway use.

I do want it to be low,but am I gonna loose some wheelspin if I go 5:13s,as opposed to 4:88s?...I play in the mud alot too, thick mud wich requires a lot of wheelspin, and I go to the sand dunes quite often, but still do a lot of trails, and rock crawling(and being low is my friend there).... :help: please....I'm going tomorrow 2 buy them.....4:88s,or 5:13s?.

I'd go with the 5:13's, thats pretty close to factory ratio.
Not to mention, Boggers are a really heavy tire, you've got to have a heavy foot to turn them in mud anyways.

5:13's PEPS! That motor has great torque, I miss my 4.2. I ordered 4.88's but have yet to drive the truck (dont ask!) Im only running 33's so it may be too much gear for me but i will always have a little headroom for 35's. But since its not a dd I would go lower gears. Not much weaker than 4.88's

Luke

ps:  when we goin wheeling man. If there is ever a weekend you wanna just go screw around let me know. Im bored! I know your a married man now but your not putting those gears in for nothing ;)   530 867 7344

So what gears did you end up picking?
and as too wheel speed if you want more wheel speed with the 5.13's just shift gears from maby 1st too 2nd? do you think it would have enought power too pull 2nd?
If not just add more power as in maby a supercharger or something like that.
Gears are not everything and in  the mud you gota have lots of power too get threw the nasty deep tiresticking mud!
goodluck and let us know how it goes.
