22RE miss at 2000 to 2400 rpm
« on: Mar 23, 2011, 07:36:26 PM »
Just completed a 22re swap in my 84 truck.

the motor is rebuilt with a mild cam.

wiring and intake are from a 85 22re

I have adjusted the tps as per the 4crawler website

All vacuum lines are new and ran according to a diagram from pirate4x4 the only vaccuum accesory not hooked up is the regulator on the fuel rail as i was told that it is only used for hot starting conditions.

New cap, rotor, wires, dist, fuel filter

timing at 5 btdc with connector jumped

tried two different afms

 no leaks in air tube

The miss I have occurs regularly from 2000 to 2400 rpm and is not present outside of that rpm range. The miss only occurs under light throttle or enough throttle to keep the truck maintaining speed on flat ground. Miss is not present while accelerating through that rpm range with medium throttle. I tried driving up a steep hill that requires more throttle at that rpm range and it did not miss. so I am gathering that it only misses from 2000 to 2400 rpm under a very light load. It will miss if held in that range in neutral. Other than the miss the engine seems to run good at all other rpms
The miss occurs whether or not the egr vacuum lines are hooked up or plugged

I am hoping that someone has fixed this problem before or can help me figure this out.
