This new front axle I have has warn hubs. I'm I going to want to keep those?

No warn hubs on yota axles are not as strong as stock aisin hubs throw them away and go back to stock.  Or sell/trade them on craigslist to somebody.

Yea. I've read good and bad things about them. I would rather have the Aisin hubs because looks and stick out. But I'll probably keep the warns for spares. I don't think they're worth that much.

I filled in my spider gears completely today. Had to grind on them a bit to get them back in the carrier. Spent a lot of time cleaning of splatter. I will defiantly be more careful next time. I had to order a dial indicator so I can put it back in right. I'll have to borrow an in-lb torque wrench also.

For sure spares is a good idea no problem with having a spare hub.

What is the common way to hold gears still while you torque bolts on the diff. Carrier? I started thinking about some kind of clamp. But then I thought of what seems like the obvious answer and used this

While I was going to throw it in and test it out but I realized that someone had painted over rust on the third member. So I masked it of and wire wheel/brushed it and threw a heavy coat of rust converting primer on.

as long as you can keep the tire from spinning on the ground, that should work petty good.  I just use a bench vice to grab ahold of the carrier, but I know that not everyone has a bench vise!

I'm realizing how many tools I don't have. I do have a pretty big vice but it not mounted

Well, I've had the welded third in for over a week now and I finally got out in to the mud, rocks and snow. It was awesome not spinning tires and digging in (except in the snow). I also took of the sway bar finally and it helped out more then I though with lifting a front tire. I finally payed back the money I borrowed to buy my axles so I will probably order the shackles and bushings for my 63s this week.

First I need to make a crank shaft pulley holder tool so I can replace this oil pump seal that is making a mess of my engine compartment. Here's some pics of my little test trip. Nothing that great. Except my Toyota, GF, dog(Luka), lake, mud, rocks and snow

Yea cliff and gumboot are in the same area up there past siskiyou. I took a cruise up there a few weeks ago but didnt get real far in the 2wd truck.

I havent made any serious wheelin trips lately with my truck and I havent been on here much in the last year or so. My truck is down for an engine swap right now but when its done ill be up for camping and wheeling over the summer time. Just need to finish up the engine swap, build some armor and ill be back to wheeling

Well a little picture update. All IFS is gone and frame tube holes are cut in frame. I got a good deal on some TG 5" front springs and everything to hang my axle. I have  my 63s and blocks for the rear or I might try my ruf packs and see what the height is with those.

Still need shocks, hi steer and I'm looking for a worn set of 37" to 40" tires

More of an update soon.

Well not much has changed in awhile. Got some 37" tires and I'm running 4" blocks and stock springs in the rear. I've been abusing the rear springs lately. But hey, if they bend ill have motivation to swap my springs.

I got a new job making double what I was making. I was thinking about buying 5" springs for the rear instead of my 63s. But I don't know what the big advantage would be.

Still need to make a square front shaft. But I was looking for the thread on clearancing a ifs double Carden. But I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Here's some pics of my flex with stock rear springs. But no shocks or bump stops.
