Topic: Ifs steering box binding up

So today I was on my way home and was in the middle of a pretty sharp turn and when I was coming out of the bend I realized that me steering was binded up(steering box) and I ended up going off the road at 35 and smashed in to two tree's in my 1st gen. Luckly they were smaller trees in soft ground so they bent and absorbed most of the impact. But from all that  I was wondering if any one else has ever had there boxes bind up on them. This was a ifs box. Also just to add to the story when I went to slam on the breaks my front driver steel braided break line rupshurd so I had no breaks to stop or slow down before impact.

What caused it to bind up? Did u tap the box? Was it making any noises before hand? Does your steering clear everything real well. That would scare the crap outta me. Id be tearing the WHOLE front end apart, the axle, steering all that, and checking EVERYTHING. Its also BAD practice to slam your brakes anytime something goes wrong.

Do you have some sort of locker in the front, is it possible the hubs were locked?

ya it scared me well im pretty sure it was the box but im tearing everything apart. i did i high steer about 5 month's ago but like 2 months i was pulling out of my drive way and had the steering fully turned and it locked up on me its the same lock as if your steering wheel locks when you try and turn the wheel with the keys out. and ever sence then when i drive it been doing it but it never actually locked up while driveing, i was planning on putting a new box in this weekend but i guess i was to late. my box aint tapped and wasent making noices but was not steering right. and it does clear everything no locker nothing hubs werent locked.
