w56 A or B?

I just bought a w56 top shift and want to rebuild it but i don't know how to tell if it is an A or B can someone help me figure this out? Or does it matter?
Will a rebuild kit cover both?

I called Marlin's shop for help identifying mine. They asked me to e-mail some pics and told me everything I needed to know.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't sell me a rebuild kit. I don't think they sell them anymore.

A's have an aluminum center plate
B's have an iron center plate

Same rebuild kit.

I have rebuilt both. I hate the aluminum center plate.
