I, as an old fart    , would like to see a ban on posting in txtspk. There has to be at least someplace where good old fashioned English is spoken! (lol!)

OMG!...I would rather try to decipher a post in Gaelic than to muddle through a post written in the conversational style of a 13 year old girl. Even if the point the is being made (or attempting to be made) is the 4wheel equivalent of a cure for cancer...can one take another seriously when there is such a weak (or week) grasp of the language? ROTFLMAO!!!

Holy Jesus hopped up on grape drank at a kenya show that is fawking perfect!!!  I'm far from perfect with my weak grasp of the English language that's for sure.  But it makes people whom otherwise appear to have at least an average intelligence seem dumber than a brick to not spell out things like 2 or 4 etc.  Those are numbers NOT words.  When people can't/don't/won't even make an attempt at spelling things out it warps my feeble mind.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

This thread needs a sticky and should be required reading, before every post. Let's also reroute the entire internet through so every person has to see it before they can do anything.
How can Obama win California at the same time that Prop 8 is winning?????

If somebody has something for sale:  do you still got it?  :shake:  do you still have it?  :yesnod:

Lots of people lately have had stuff for sell

This is quiet a thread. I see the grammar nazis couldn't keep quite anymore.

This thread is almost more than I can bare... I can barley stand it!!  :conf:

Don't get me started on the many variations of have got / have not got  ::)  I haven't got the time for it. I'm afraid this one has become so deeply ingrained in our language, it is probably taught as being correct in English classes. If English is still taught in schools, other than ESL. Say, does anyone else remember diagramming sentences?  :ack:

:haha:  what's funniest about that is that you enlightened me to that, and I still catch you doing it sometimes  :bolt:

I know.... I occasionally embarrass myself. I hear it so much every day, even from the TV news talkers who should know better.... it's just so commonplace it almost seems normal, but it ain't.  :disturbed:

Something I'm noticing more and more on commercials and tv in general, the use of is instead of has.  I'm paying close attention and they're full on saying is.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
