88 heater wiring?
« on: Apr 07, 2010, 04:06:03 PM »
Does any one have a link to the fsm for a 88 toyota truck? I just got back in to the toyota thing and got a 88 4x4 today for $500. Was told needed a blower motor so I got a new one and its not working, got the fan switch and relay replaced fuses and all that. I have not tested wires yet I'm on my way to work right now but I wanna get the heater up and going to so I can start driving my truck. Yes I know summers coming but I live on the oregon coast so who knows what will happen and when.

Any help is apperciated. Mostly the wiring on the top power plug area near the dash metal support bar is what I'm thinking it is. Its a lil white plug with 5-7 wires from what I can remember.

Thanks,
Wil

I never got it hot wired up because that did not help. I'm still lost on this. Is the only power coming in to the heater from the 3 wire plug on the top pass side?

I have a 89 high only works I need to find the resistor location that might be your problem also do you have a multi meter? Test voltage if present or not maytbe bad blower motor.

resistor is located on the fire wall about 3 inch left of the blower motor bottom behind it. held in with 1 phillips screw. thats not my issue I replaced the relay with 4 different ones and nothing. I get power going in to it but non out. If I cant get it figured out by winter I'm goin with a 12v trail heater.
