I have a 91 4runner that i got and am trying to build a street-able off roader. I have never wheeled with an auto tranny before  :headscratch: i've only had early 80's toyo trucks with 5 speeds and 22r's  i'm just not familiar with what i can do with that stock tranny  :dunno:
life is hard, but it is harder if your stupid!
Love wheeling in  central washington state, wouldn't have it any other way!

The automatic transmissions are fine for offroading depending on how hard you are on the truck and the kind of wheeling you will be doing.. what kind of wheeling are you going to be doing? mountain trails, rock crawling, mud? a tranny oil cooler might be a wise upgrade just prevent the tranny from getting too hot.  :twocents:

Gotcha. You should have no problem running an auto then. Should work great for your needs.
