Topic: R151-F HELP!!!!

so i was drivin home from work, put my truck in reverse and it would not come out of reverse.... my shifter thinks its in neutral.... i pulled my MC short throw shifter and it was not the problam.... what the hell happened to my tranny? has this happened to any one?? any ideas

I had this happen to me but my R151F was sitting on vertical on it's bell housing and what happens is the 5th gear is so heavy it just slides and then the shifter is stuck in neutral but it's in gear. What Marlin told me to do and I sure hope I remember this correctly cause it's been years...was to remove the reverse light switch on the side of the tranny and use some needle nose plyers and pull the shift fork or rod whatever it's called...backwards and that will put the transmission back into neutral.

I'm not sure this is your case but it's something to ponder or try...GOOD LUCK!!
