Some body please help!
« on: Aug 02, 2009, 12:56:12 AM »
:headscratch:Hello...here's my problem and i hope you guys can help me:

I have 93 extracab yota w/ sas, 5" total lift with 14" biltsein shocks and 5" shackles.
I waited 2 after the sas to some what brake the lift kit in then flexed it out.
It seems like my bump stop are limiting my flex, but w/o my bump stops...my shocks will bottom out. I know i can go to 12" shocks instead
but what about my bump stop limiting my flex. Here's how i flexed my truck...(yes it's locked w/ Detroits front and rear w/ Yukon 5.29's)
my drivers wheel climbed over s speaker box meade for 12" subs and my rear passenger climbed on one as well. I'm not having any problems w/ the rear. It's just the front. Just over that speaker box and my bump makes solid contact. Not a very good flex, if you ask me.\
Yes, i do want to avoid longer shackles do to top heavy.

SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP.  :dunno:

Umm wow...  You don't want you shocks bottoming out, EVER..  You want the bumpstops hitting just before the springs are flat of the tires are trying to remove you fenders.  If they are hitting before either of those events them move them.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

the flex doesnt look too bad on your truck... like WT said, you want your bumps to limit your travel just before the springs go neg-arch.  Sure you could technically squeeze out a few more inches of flex but its not worth flattening out a nice pair of springs and bottoming your shocks to do it.

I say leave your setup like you have it... i think that as the springs soften up you can still gain some flex via droop, and not worry about how much your tires stuff into the wheelwheels...
