Steam Cleaner, where to find?
« on: Aug 09, 2009, 11:04:37 AM »
Hey guys,

OK there has got to be a better way to clean things than lying under the truck with an old coffee can full of gas and a fingernail brush  :hammerhead:  I remember a guy I knew had a steam cleaner along time ago he used at work and it made things magically clean under the hood!  I did some searching on Google and basically could only find cheap kitchen/bath steam cleaners or multi-thousand dollar professional models.  Anyone out there know where to find a decent little steam cleaner?  Not looking for super speed or a pressure washer just a little steam cleaner for cleaning under the hood and nasty grease off the Transmission/T-Cases and fram-rails.  Thanks guys and gals!

Call a rental place.  You'll be spoiled after using a steam cleaner, but definitely use a good degreaser first (castrol super clean), and it sometimes helps to mist the surfaces with water before spraying it all down with the degreaser.  It's still a good idea to scrape off the heavy stuff beforehand.

Does thread really belong in the "Project research and build up" thread?
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Well I'm researching for a project?  Where would you have it moved to, I'm open to suggestions?  Everything is coming out of the truck next weekend for the rebuild and I would like to have a way to clean it up really nice.  Didn't think it would be a big deal, sorry.
