Will that tranny work in my '85?  Is there anything wrong with it?  Let me know as soon as possible, I really need a tranny!  Thanks

I'm pretty sure it will work.  I think all the carb trannys are interchangable.  I could be wrong so I'd check with someone else.  I bought and never put it in my truck.  I was told that it shifted good and had around 100K on it.

uh... actually, they are different.  The 83 5 spd is going to be shorter than the 84, 85.

yes it will work but you have to modifiy a few things including where the shifter comes up through the floor pan and drive lines.

I am pretty sure....

79-83' L-series Cast Iron transmissions are 4" inches shorter than 84'-95' Aluminum Trannys, and I believe 5.5" shorter than Turbo and V6 trannys.

According to chris672's info, he is selling a L52 5-Spd and a Top Shifting Short housing Transfercase.

Regards,
BigMike

I have a forward shifting t-case and need a top shifting one. Do you have a top shift t-case? Also would you be willing to trade just the top shift for a 90's style tranny and t-case minus the bellhousing? Thanks, Corbin

t-case is sold.  What condition is your tranny in?  My friend has an automatic in his 4runner and wants to swap in a 5spd.

You've got just the transmision I'm looking for! Is it still available? If so, what condition is it in? I'm in the Foothills, about an hour east of Sac, and would be willing to pick-up.

Is the tranny sold?
