x2

If you take your time welding up the sheetmetal you can keep it from warping much so you'll need less bondo. That's all than i can think of.  :dunno:

it comes down to time
I have bobbed a few that looked like they were made that way
and a few not so good.
remember take it down to the metal before applying bondo
you cab beat down any high spots with a small ball hammer.
then just fill and sand untill you have it perfect

The proper way to do it is to section out portion of sheet metal, then stitch weld the bed back together, grind down the welds, bondo/sand-bondo/sand, paint.  If you can't weld, or know anyone who can, don't bob the bed until you can.

If you bought a rig that has been shortened and want to fix it, you will need to sand down the seam and start from there.  Body work takes time and patience for it to look clean, it can't be rushed.

If you post up some pics we should be able to give you some more advice.  If the PO didn't do a good job to begin with, trying to clean it could be a pointless endeavor.

Body filler (bondo) is your friend.
Here my brothers worked their mojo Bobbed front and rear.

here was a before pic.

The more time you take prepping and sand...the better the out come.
