rubicon is fairly colse...up 50 and take ice house road.

other than that i don't know of any(know there are more fordice...don't know how to get to them)...i just moved to sac a few months ago in late aug.
i go to sac state(csus)...i don't have my rig or many tools up here but will help you wrench...don't feel safe leaving those in the drom parking lot.

if you want to go wheeling somewhere i'd be more than happy to ride shotgun...chip in for gas, beer and all that happy stuff.

happy trails

Ruger, I live in Sac, I actually go to ARC and take a few classes at Sac State as well.  I am a novice at this so I was hoping for something a little less "rugged" then the rubicon.  I just moved up here recently as well.  Be careful about the wrenching idea though, I might take you up on it :_order: :flamer:.

if you take jackson highway east then make a left on latrobe road it turns into a country road and in the winter there are some pretty bada$$ water crossing and some pretty cool hill climbs and some muddin to do but not much rocks out there..... its also a country road that has a sign that says impassible when wet for most cars but we got through there all the time..... dont go alone cause it could get nasty or just bring a cell phone.....  :hahaha:  :hahaha:

I live in the folsom area
Theres a good spot called lamida in Newcasslte -Auburn.  All you do is go up 80 towards reno, and get off at duglas off ramp.  There should be construction going on.  Stay to the right and go towards folsom lake, "stay on duglas".  Go for a while maybe about 5 miles and turn left at auburn folsom road "its and intersection".  Then all you do is go up aburnfolsom towards auburn for about another 3 miles and then make a right on Lamida road, you can only go right on lamida.  Then go up about 1/4 mile till you see the first little dirt road on the right hand side and take it, you will have to hope a cirb.  then just follow the trail up to the trees and try to keep going into the trees-uphill.  The trail has everything rock hillclimbs, hillclimbs, rocks, mud, yeah its got everything, all you have to do is find what you want, because theres a lot of split off trails that lead to good stuff.

oh yeah i might have spelled lamida wrong. its perty close i think.
I personlaly like it better then the mini rubicon at perry city.

yea im in for meeting up some time. Im probably go toninte to test out the fresh mud. the only problem is that my transmission housing has two cracks.  but thanks to jb weld the leaking has been minimized.  I still have to test it out, see if she holds.

All i really know of is the Rubicon, Fordice, Prarie city, and Hell Hole.  You can get to Hell Hole on Wentworth Springs Road.  There is a sign right before Uncle Tom's Cabin.  It says that Hell Hole is to the right.  You take that and it will lead you the the trail.  You can also get to it from Foresthill but i forgot how to do that.  It's quicker from foresthill If you are on 80.

there's MANY trails out there, go find them...

people are weary of just telling everyone where all these certain trails are because then alot of ppl go tear them up... they get closed... and we're all SOL.   Not saying that you'd do this but it has happened.

Look at how used up the Rubicon is because everyone know's about it, it's constantly facing many issues because i dont think its maintained enough....
