ok, I had a 1/2 torn-up Blazer that was left @ my shop that I'm trading for a set of 1/2 ton Chevy axles w/ flattops.

Well, I have an opportunity to get a 1987 4Runner, missing some stuff ( front clip, doors, tranny, etc. ) for the engine, so I can put it into my 87 Xtra Cab Yota. He wants to trade the axles for the 4Runner

THEN, I will make the 4Runner into a rockcrawler of sorts ( I have a D60FF/D44HD combo that I can use, and prolly a 350/TH350/NP203, but I can get an adaptor to fit a crawler to that tranny, or something like that. ), and I can save the truck for DD duty, as well as MODERATE trail riding.

CAN YOU SEE WHY I'M HAPPY?

Beat the truck use the runner as a dd. Remember that the whole point was for the gf and kid.

Runner has no front clip, rad support, doors, windshield, interior, etc.

PLUS, my mom's bf got me the Mega ( 1975 Oldsmobile Omega, 2 door, 350/TH350, Olds version of the Nova ), so that'll be for taking her & the kid around. Truck will be gf's & my getaway/my work truck.

the 403 actually is a damned good engine it has a perfectly square bore vs. stroke. It can be built to scream!

so, here's how it'll be in the end:

Mega: 403, weekend cruiser, grocery hauler

X-Cab: new engine, SAS, work truck, weekend getaway w/out the kid vehicle

Runner: drivetrain, suspension, OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE, TRAILERED EVERYWHERE

ok, talk to me. I am trying to get this 82 no-cab, walk-through Yota w/ cage for $450 by next Friday. How much would he spend on it? All I need is the engine, and MAYBE a few other parts, but no body stuff, or frame things.
