question about my '85 4runner
« on: Aug 27, 2008, 05:34:06 PM »
alright i just bought an 85 4runner with a 22rec. I just replaced the timing chain and head gasket, but now it is only running on three cylinders. #1 is not firing the plug is firing and it has compression and the timing is within a few degrees, is there anything that these are known for??  Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

nothing in particular..... maybe a fuel or computer problem? it all worked fine before? have you done a compression test on it?

ya it has compression what about the wires going into the injectors? how do you check them? do i have to pull the fuel injection to get the injectors out? could the injector be clogged?

could be any number of things, im thinking fuel delivery though if you have spark..... that or air deprivation...... but there is no way it aint getting air.......

what about your spark plug wires? i've had wires that would work when i tested it, but when i drove, they vibrated back apart, i had torn the inside of the wire when i changed plugs.....

i wasnt asking if you had compression, but if you had done a comrpession test? where you check the pressure in the cylinders with a gauge and see how they compare to each otehr
