blown transfer case

 :shake: well i did it now i blew up my transfore case i think :dunno:. i was drive down the road and out of no where the motor reved up and smoke and a weird sounds came out from under the truck i had oil comeing out of the shifter before it went its in the shop now havent had it apart yet i think water might have got in it. does any one know how bad this can be

2. If your motor reved up "all the sudden", It doesn't sound like a x-fer case problem.

X2 sounds more like a clutch problem, or Auto trans which ever you have.

its a manual but when i stop i put it in gear and tryed to move i got a realy bad noise out of the drive train if its a clutch thats not to bad i hope it is a clutch

Did it lock up?  Were you able to move it once you got stopped?  Was anything hot under the rig?  Stock or duals?
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

no it didnt lock up i had nothing coming out of the drive shafts when i tryed to drive it made a weird noise thats hard to explain. i dont know if any thing was hot and it was duals its rebuilt transfer cases with marlins mc08 adapter i used the truck off road twice about a month ago and drive 3 hrs. to get home and i drove it a couple times after that and didnt have a problem

When I had my t-case issues it locked up the rear tires two different times and the first time was so hot smoke came out when I removed the shifter.  The needle bearing between the low speed gear and the main shaft failed both times.  Sounds like you're having a very different issue.

Is it driving now?  If so, is it still making the noise?

no its not driveing i have nothing comeing out to the drive shaft ill find out tomorrow from the shop what they thing it is

4runner body on a hilux frame = Hi-Runner.
 2,4 dti duals 2,28 x 2,28 to 8" 5.71 with arbīs  and 39,5" trxus
gathering parts for my goal which is
350 Chevy 700r4 auto to 2.28 x 4.70  and 4.88 9,5" cruisers diffs,diamondaxles and cable lockers, 44" richard cepecs

no unless it the shifter broke cause i moved the shifters around trying to find a gear that works but now that you say that you make wonder if that could be it id be pissed if it was but ill see

Well, if you have that much slop that you can't find the normal shift pattern I would for sure check that.

i did find a normal shift pattern i don know its a complete mistory hopefully i find out soon if it something simple than ill have the shop that its at but if i have to take it apart ill bring it home and have the shop that rebuild it take it apart and hopefully i gat this new tundra im looking at and i get to tow something with it

well they drained the oil in the transmission and found metal. Is there any  after market parts for the ws6 trannys

well there is a guy in the toyota club i belong to said i can swap out the tranny at his shop if i wanted to  :greengrin: . you got to love the bond between toyota people

yeah ive had my t-case completely seize up goin 55 on the highway the first time i drove my 82. pretty freakin scary

well it was my transmission you can spin the in put shaft and it makes a realy bad noise and sounds funny and you can wikel it side to side i havent had a chance to take it and have it looked at i think it will be cheaper to but another one for a spare
