My question is on my 86 4runner. When I place the shifter in 1st gear why does it shift into 2nd gear? I check out the linkage and it is placing the lever on the tranny in 1st gear. No broken tranny mounts or motor mounts. The body is solid and is not moving. When the shift is in 2nd gear the tranny does not shift into drive.
Any help would be great.
