need help with carb

ok i got the stock carb on a 87 22r. my ? is when i go to start it it wont start unless i put gas in the carb but after it runs it well start up everytime so wat do i need and also wat all vacum lines can i get rid of thanks

check your choke. pull off the air cleaner and make sure it's closed when it's cold.  also check the accelerator pump, it should be squirting fuel in when you pump the gas petal.

wat about all the lines and stuff how do i get rid of some of it

first I'd get it running right the way it is, then if you still want to, you can remove a few vacuum line. but if you have a stock motor, it well probably run better and get better mpg if you run the stock vacuum line set up.  87 was a pretty good year if everythings working.

check the linkage make sure it's not stuck and that it can close. it shouldn't need adjustment unless someone has been playing with it. adjust the choke plates so the just close when it's cold, then check it again warm and make sure they're fully open.
