Representin'
« on: Jul 22, 2004, 05:46:42 PM »
New to this board, you may have seen me on PBB.

My rig;
1985 xtra, flatbed, tube front bumper w/HS9500, custom desert camo krylon paint, dual cases AA adapter (sorry boys, it was on the truck when I bought it), Marlin clutch & u-bolt flip kit, 5.29's, detroit/lock-rite, 38.5/14.50-15 SX's on 15 x 8's, Longfields and Cro-Mo inners, a few other goodies.

Been wheeling with Marilin twice, IMO, nothin' finer.

I did not make the doors, I don't have a bender, and with the price of steel these days, I wouldn't want to waste $'s learning how to use it.  George Isenbarg of Moon Shadow Metals, ( http://members.cox.net/moonshadowmetals/ ) , built it them for me.  What I like is the way the main "U shape" tube follows the door jamb all the way around.  This allows the door to take a hit and distrubite the load over the whole jamb.  Most of the other designs, (SOR, All Pro, etc), all the load will be absorbed by the hinges or latch, not the strongest IMO.

Here's some video of wheeling in my backyard, (not really but only a couple of miles from my house), on the 4th of July.  You may notice that my front end is not locking up, I think my Detroit is worn out, or has other issues, but it still wheels pretty damn good in 3WD!

Also, if any of you'se are interested in a run we put on every year here's a link.
