I cut most of mine out with a sawzall.  then i cut lines to make flaps and bend them in so there werent many sharp edges.  BTW, i really like your avatar superstarai.  Wait, i think i already said that hehehe.

I used a big Dewalt jigsaw on mine, with a fine tooth bi-metal blade last time. My first attempt was on a rusted out old Ford with a sawzal. The jig was much easier to control. If both sides don't come out perfectly even, so what. Unless you have bionic eyes, you'll never notice.

Also, FYI, if you do scew it up royally, replacment fenders are going for around 60$ on E-Bay. I'm on my second set now. When I made most recent cuts, I masked off the cut line w/ thin masking tape and followed that. Just do it. Once you start cutting, it becomes a very fun disease. :hammer:

I used a sawzall to cut them, then I cleaned them up with a hand file.  They turned out really nice.

i was thinking of cutting the whole flare out of mine and sweeping it down in the front like you did then maybe i could lose the body lift blocks so its not to top heavy(8" total)
outlined it yesurday but with al this damn rain in the after noon i could take awhile (no shop to put it in and was told the car port is a no cutting zone by the wife)

I forgot, you've got the factory flare outline to follow since it's first gen style, can't remember if its square or round for your year, but it's basicly a ready-made template to follow when you cut. I tried my first set of cutouts with air shears and an air chopsaw, but the Jig was easiest for me to control. Use a good quality FINE tooth bi-metal blade. Slow and smooth. You can also make your cut a little lower than where you want to end up and leave yourself some room for error. You can always clean it up w/ a soft gdinder stone later. Here's a likn to the place I've bought replacment fenders from, around 35$ each. http://stores.ebay.com/PERSHING-AUTO-BODY-PARTS_W0QQsspagenameZl2QQtZkm
