How often do your cross streams that coverup your headlights? If its that often relocate your filter or use a (hideous) snorkle

well the truck is stock now and it is yet to be in water that is up to the headlights. it will splash that high though. but i plan on buying your sas kit later this year so that will get it that much higher. but what about the precharger, what does that do?

The precharger is a foam ring that goes around the filter to help filter more dirt out of the intake air. You can do a mod so your air intake ends up inside the back of the drivers side fender. Better protection from water than in the engine compartment.

i'm gonna do the fender snorkel(basically a PVC pipe that goes into the driver's side fender and opens towards the back with a drain valve to keep water out) and probably run a homemade airbox with some kind of foam filter, like an amsoil one

I just put the k+n filter kit on my 22re and the precharger.  It installed really easy and opens up the space where your airbox sits now.  I was thinking about putting an MSD ignition module either there or the firewall up top.  The precharger is supposed to repel water and keep a good majority of the dust out of the filter

i havent got it on this truck yet. but i had an 89 toy pickup with a 22re and auto tranny. i had first bought just the regular replacement filter and felt nothing. then i bought an intake in that truck and there was a noise and top end inprovement. i also felt some throttle response. so in my opinion the intakes are worth there money.

Lilswamper not that I noticed but I plan to do some other mods to the engine like header so induction was the best place to start.  The K+N is definetly a free-flowing filter because at idle sitting in the truck with the windows up you hear what sounds like a vacuum leak.  When I first installed it and was checking for leaks I thouhgt I missed a clamp, but i cupped my hands around the filter and noticed a reduction in the noise.  The kit also frees up space in the engine compartment.  I think I'm putting my control module there.
