You gotta be kidding!

http://pages.ebay.com/sell/update08/basic/index.html?ov=004KO

So ebay just sent me a message saying their fees have gone down.  Great, they've risen too high anyway and are bordering on chasing me away, so a drop would be welcome!  I get to reading down and sure enough, the lowest listing fee dropped by a whopping 5 cents :yikes:  I scroll down a little more checking out the other fee adjustments and get to this:

Final Value Fees for Auction-style and Fixed Price listings

Closing Price Final Value Fee Final Value Fee (effective 02/20/2008)
Item not sold No fee No change
$0.01-$25.00 5.25% of the closing value - 8.75% of the closing value
$25.01 - $1,000.00 5.25% of the initial $25.00, plus 3.25% of the remaining closing value balance ($25.01 to $1,000.00) - 8.75% of the initial $25.00, plus 3.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($25.01 to $1,000.00)
Over $1,000.01 5.25% of the initial $25.00, plus 3.25% of the initial $25.00 - $1,000.00 plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($1,000.01 - closing value) - 8.75% of the initial $25.00, plus 3.50% of the initial $25.00 - $1,000.00 plus 1.50% of the remaining closing value balance ($1,000.01 - closing value)

Holy crap!  Final value fees are now going up to nearly 9%!  Where do they draw the line?  At what point do you just say screw it and decide to no longer deal with their high fees and general incompetence?  I'm pretty sure I'll be sitting down and figuring what all I need to try selling before february 20th, then just stick to craigslist unless I get a high dollar item I can only offload on ebay.  This sucks!

:yesnod: and there goes another 3%!  Between listing fees and shipping, I barely made $100 off $200 worth of sales last week.  Good times!

between their fees and their marketing towards every idiot that thinks hey can make a living selling new junk products made in China I hardly use them anymore.   I spend too much time sifting through the useless crap to find what I'm looking for.  5 or 6 years ago it was all private users selling unwanted items.  Heck theres some local guy here that at any given time he has over 1000 items listed just in the auto parts section.

I use Craigslist now.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
