4wd transmission to2wd
« on: Jan 29, 2008, 03:49:35 AM »
can the transfercase of a 4wd 22r tranny be removed and then make it a 2wd truck instead without any other parts/work involved(except lenghtening of the driveshaft)?

reason is, i wanna use the xcase for dualling some other truck and then sell the xcase "donor" as 2wd only.

No.  You will need 2wd tail housing and shaft
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

that's all the parts needed? 2wd tail housing and extended shaft? the tranny itself will still be useful?
