84 4runner winshield washer problem?

does the windshield washer have its own motor or does it run of the wiper motor somehow? everything is hooked up but when i push the buton nothing happens?

check your electric connection to the washer pump motor and check all your fuse's. if you got power up to the pump, then yeah, you need a new pump.
