Topic: has anyone built there own crossmembers ?

well kinda i dont have the tools to build something like but that would be nice. is there a way to modify the stock one to get more clearence?

cut the bottom off at the pinch weld, plate it with 3/16" x 3" flat bar.

thats what im talking about. so you would cut the pinch weld from side to side on the crossmember. is there anypics on this?

I don't have any here, but I can take some Weds, when I can get into my storage again.  I have a stock xmember cut waiting for plate that I was gonna put on a buddies rig, however he no longer wheels.  I didn't cut the weld, i left it to weld to, I cut out the dropped part. let me know if you want a pic.

Yeah yeah yeah  In my defense I wanted to stick with the Toyota transfer case but way to much money for the adaptors.
