Hey Bud,   TruckTrader on this site has a  V6 3rd with 4:88 gears and the Detroit for sale you might want to get ahold of him. Looks like a pretty good price for what he has  :dunno:

I have a detroit for a 8" 4cyl toy. Came out the rear on my truck worked great. Pulled it to replace with a V6 diff. I am in stockton if you are interested.

AdrianL,  Is this a complete 3rd or just the locker ?  What are you asking for it ?

FYI, 90% percent of the time when you brake an axel, ring or pinion gear when running any kind of locker with the exception of ARB you will damage a detroit,  a lockright, ausielocker.  I have a detroit that isn't damaged. It is a 4cyc diff, it's complete, there is nothing wrong with it. I removed to so that I could run a taco rear end, the taco rear end is much stronger, it has an 8.4 ring gear, if you want the 8.4 ring gear you have get the housing and diff that is non e locking. The e locking diffs have an 8 in ring gear. That's my two cents.

I'm just putting info out there. I'm honestly not trying to sell my detroit, but if someone offered me the right amount of money I would sell it. I'm stating the facts, that is all there is to it.

and to top that off. Why would you have three or four sitting around with a broken ring gear? If you have had that many detroits you should know when an axel brakes, ring gear etc the detroit breaks, at least 9 times out of 10.
