i have a good upgrade for everyone with quad headlights on their tow pigs. i did a quick search but if this has been discussed i'm sorry.
i got bored during class last night watching the teacher fry relays and burn his hand . so i grabbed a spare relay and wire and started playing with my truck. i wired my low beams and high beams together, so when the highs are on the lows stay lite as well. i did this in the parking lot with the light of a few cell phones, so i post pics and go into more detail when i pretty the wriring up.

i didn't clean the wiring up yet but here are the pics i took tonight. remove the drivers side parking light to gain access to the headlight wiring. the green wire is for the highs and the tan is the lows. all you need is a 30 amp relay and a power supply with a 30 amp inline fuse. plug the low beams into #86 pin, high beams into #87 pin, power into #30, ground into #85. tuck everything behind the parking lamps and your good to go. 

the third pic is the old highs, the fourth pic is the modified highs, and the last is the modified highs with two 55w offroad lights. you don't actually see farther, but it helps to see the little critters when you have the highs on. the lights on the shrub kinda help explain it. i was seeing red dots for awhile

You really shouldn't run high and low beams together in the same bulb......

The bulb wasn't designed to run that hot.


If you're playing with relays,  run the headlights directly off the battery or alternator rather than through the wiring harness.    You'll gain a few volts at the light and they'll be much brighter.

the high and lows are seperate bulbs. with the way i have them wired, when i turn the highs on the lows bulbs are still supplied power.

i tested the volts yesterday. i have 12.5 at the bat and 11.25 at the lights with the modified highs on.

chevys run the dual headlight setup... they actually have a plug and play black box that you can do this with avaialbe at places like summit/jcwhitney/jegs etc

yup, KOEO. didn't test voltage with the engine on.

yeah, but if you know basic wiring you can save yourself 15 dollars.
