I believe you've also got to address some steering issues   :headscratch:
Time to go wheelin!

You'll deffinetly need to go crossover steering, the way the CJ5 steering is set up is retarded.

thanks for the link! i am not sure he wants to do all that work, i will tell him about it, can he use his stock springs? and just remount on top? and leave the shocks were they are and do a highsteer?
thanks

i'd think he'd have to put in new mounts for the shocks, and yes you can use stock springs, though i'd check pirate for some cheap YJ springs, they work great with the SOA YJs i've seen, tho i've got some mixed and matched Old Man Emu with some YJ leaves in, and it works awesome

doing a SOA is way more involved than just putting springs on top... drive line changes, pinion angle has to be right, steering (hi-steer), brake lines (you mentioned), springs (if you are currently runnig 4" lift springs for example you wont use those... you will end up with 8" lift), look at shackel reversal too, then you will have to address axle wrap... its not like the springs on a yota, they wrap way worse casue they way they are centered not offset. some say the shorter wheel base also makes it worse. track bars are used but not a perfect solution. to do this right you will spend more $$$ than you think.

some guys do the SOA in the front and stay SUA rear. also you will want to consider changing axle to a D44 or someting if he is still running stock alxes... when he goes to 35"s or adds a locker those shafts will be toast. might wanna look into "outboarding" springs also. if you were going to do the work of a SOA might as well throw a better/buit axle under it. you can stay SUA and build it to flex... there is tons of info on pirate like mention above.

Stay SUA in a CJ-5 unless you stretch the wheelbase!!!
