22re was running great! what happened?
« on: Jun 11, 2007, 09:53:31 AM »
my 22re at startup is running rough, sputtering. i parked it before i went away on my trip. it sat for 5 days. i just recently swapped in the new complete engine. its been running great up until this morning when i got in it to go to work. i made it to work but bairly. its lagging power big time and the exhaust sound totally different from ever before. sounds like a quieter lawn mower when revving it up. it revs up fine with no sputter but sounds weird! like maybe its missing or something. it was struggling to make it up hills that it should have no problem with. its take forever to get up to speed. and taking off from a stand still is the worst. like i rev it up start to let the clutch out and it starts going like everything would be fine but it starts sputtering and :pokinit: almost as if it isnt getting enough fuel, but if it just wasnt getting enough fuel like a bad fuel filter then why was it fine when i parked it 5 days ago and why would it run at all now. the spark plugs are tight, and all wires are connected.

any suggestions?

never mind!  4th cylinder sparkplug wire grounding out on the header will do it!
