2wd auto with divorced toyota tcase adapter?
« on: May 20, 2007, 07:57:21 PM »
wondering what peoples thought, is there a way to run a 2wd auto trans, with a divorced toyota tcase? how long would it be and would it be easier then the other mod options?
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

how long would depend on how long you make your intermediate shaft.  It can be done, FFC has a divorced toy case in the migo.  I think OTT?? or Inchworm makes the adapter?

if I did a good job aligning stuff, could I make it work without an intermidiate shaft? bolting flange to flange with a strong enough crossmember? or would that be a really really really bad idea as I am thinking it may be?

we are talking a toyota tcase why does making it divorced make it a bad thing? honestly, if I did it, I could lower my tcase and clock it all in one

I would at the very least use 1 ujoint.  Your frame will twist, and your engine will torque over.  You need to have some give in there.

You mean raise it? why would you want to make it an anchor???

raise front output, lower rear output, making for better driveline angle, this truck is going to end up with either 10 or 12 inches of lift and tires to match that lift, this is going to be a mini monster truck for mostly mud purposes.
