Volts at Idle
« on: Jan 07, 2008, 08:26:10 PM »
Hi all I'm a newly returned member, formerly known as HackJob but now reincarnated as Jonesbilt.  In true hackjob/Jonesbilt style I have made some mods to my rig one of the latest was to cross pollinate the brush guard from my 1995 Nissan pathfinder to my Marlin winch bumper.  As fog lights were on the brush guard they were duly spliced into the head lights on the truck.  Okay here is my problem at Idle my truck makes 13.25 vdc with no accessories on.  When the lights and heater are switched on the Volt out put at the battery is down to 12vdc, at high idle its about 14vdc.  I have checked all of the connections and replaced the Alt with my trail spare, to no avail.  Question what should the voltage Output on a 79 20r pick up charging system be?
