throttle positioin sensor
« on: May 12, 2007, 04:47:21 PM »
I have a 1989 toyota truck with an lcengineering pro stroker motor.  It idles extremely well, but when I get on it, it feels like it is bogged down with fuel (or not enough air).  I bought the truck last december and it has the upgraded injectors, so I think that the guy that had it may have put a V6 TPS in the truck instead of a 4 cylinder TPS.  Does this sound like it may have happened?  It runs great as long as you don't move the throttle more than 1-2 centimeters.  Let me know what you think?  Thanks

Adjust the timing...

On my 86 (different I know) when I put a new TPS on it, it was good. Ran top notch at idle but once you drove it or even touched the throttle it bogged. It was like at 25*. Got it adjusted and ran great.

So just wanted to let you know that I did adjust the timing and it is slightly better.  I don't have any kind of marking so it makes it kind of a pain to use a light.  But I think with a few more tweeks on the timing everything should be good.  Thanks!

Glad that worked. Try tweaking it more like you said and Im sure you can probably get it good. Just listen to the sound of the motor too while doin it.

Since I don't have the original motor, and it should be a performance from what I know about LC engineering, you think I should run better octane than regular gas?
