Fitting 91 Toy rims onto an 82 Toyota?
« on: Apr 27, 2007, 11:31:45 AM »
 :willynilly:

We sold a nice set of rims and tires off our 91 4Runner to a guy who want's to put them to his 82 4x4. The rims juuuust clear the steering on the Drivers side front ... but when the weight rolls around... it hits it :( (passenger side is clear.)
We offered to refund and take them back but he really wants to keep them! So I told him you guys have tried pretty much everything on Toyotas... so if we can find him a reasonable fix, He'd really appreciate it!! :D

Ok we are soooooooooooooo close to having them clear!

Any tricks of the trade to squeeze that extra 1/2" of space from the front end steering? - without buying a set of longer studs and 1" wheel spacers?

 :flamer:

TIA

.... zippity doo dah... zippity eh?

I had that problem on one truck and ran a home built 3/8" spacer with stock studs.

Otherwise you'll have to get 1" spacers from Marlin, no need for longer studs though. :twocents:

I had to run 1.5 spacers to get my IFS 6 spoke alloy wheels to clear on my 85.
