Does this look right to you?

I have been having a problem ever since I got my truck that it sometimes (1 out of every three times about) gets hung up between 4lo and 4hi when going back to 4 hi. When it happens I have to pull the shifter and work the shift forks manualy.

Last time I did it I got to looking at the tip of the shifter and realised jsut how F'ed up it looks, and figured that is probably atleast part of my problem. do yall think building it up with a welder and then grind it back to shape would work to fix the hang up?

Wow, that is horrible. You are lucky you caught it before the tip broke off, fell into your case, and really gave you some trouble!

It would definitely be a good idea to replace it :gap:

WOW! that is one F*#ked up shifter. Its so bad you should probably change the oil in that case!! :twocents:

I hadn't thought about it but you are probably right. I changed all the fluids when i bought it and that has almost been a year, besides this looking like it does.

That does look sharp, plus with it set back like that it probably wouldn't get knocked out of 4lo when I try to go into second.
