What is everyone using for grease in the different parts of their rigs?
Knuckles, suspension, driveline.

I get a pretty expensive grease from an old supervisor for free.. its called Hydrotex and works great.

As far as fluids.. I run the cheap stuff and it has worked great for years... 90 weight in the axles/t-case/tranny

and a Castrol 20-50 in the engine.

I run valvoline synthetic gear oil, but only cause I got some for free before.  If I had to buy it and I were going with synthetic, it'd hafta be redline or royal purple.  Ofcourse I'd hafta throw it on my chassis dyno after that to see how much hp I freed up  :blah:

syn blen has nothing that dino (natural petrol) doesnt have..... its very nominally better if at all.... the blend is basically a way for manufactureers to get more $ out of people that dont know.....

i dont have proof to back it up, just what i have seen posted all over the web..... im sure if you wanted to know, you could easily find it....

other people here to feel the same way, so keeping this thread alive will get it more views....

the syn blend oils are base dino with very little synthetic in it, just enough to say its a synthetic blend.....

like new cars for example..... a lot of the toyotas are made in the USA, but are of a  Japanese make -- on the same note, a lot of the GMs/Fords are now made in Mexico
does that mean the toyota is american or the ford/gm is foreign?

I like Royal Purple but I'm having a hard time keeping it in the diffs for long enough to get the full benefit, which is long life. :headscratch:I end up swapping components more than I'd like to. I should filter and re-use it...This stuff is like $10 a quart :smack: It did make my detroit locker operate smoother using the Royal Purple... :bananasplit:
It seems to leak its way past the seals easier too.

I've never used syn in any rig because with the amount of water we have to go through up here.

I'm thinking about buying a case of the Amsoil Moly grease for doing my bearings, knuckles and suspension stuff with.
