extending wheelbase/ dual case/ tranny question
« on: Mar 13, 2007, 02:54:31 PM »
OK so here goes.  I am about to start gathering parts for a rear 4-link on my '83 in a couple weeks.  I plan on extending my wheelbase in the process.  The truck currently has the L52 transmission which is roughly 21.5" long, and i will be replacing it with a W56 which is roughly 25.5" long.  I ill also be going with an MC-07 R10 adapter plate  so that would be another 6.5".  All in all that would move my rear driveshaft flange back 10.5" right?

Sounds like you are trying to make your driveshaft before you finish your drivetrain. You should wait and measure it.

But yeah, theroetically, that should be right.
