thats for damn sure... those are pretty long.
you could weld a piece of metal in between them in the middle..... to make 'em stronger..

Little cold this morning check out the frosty windshield

Well got some cheap shocks for the rear of my 4 runner..
The old shocks rear shocks were done. Plus they were pretty much extended to the max with the rear lift shackles.
You compress them they don't come back out not much resistance to push them in either.

The new shocks are for a 98 Dodge ram 2500 4x4 3/4 ton rear app. They were about $22.99 ea.
The dodge shocks are 16" compressed and 26" extended with 10" of travel
stock shocks are 13.65" compressed 21.50 extended and 7.8" of travel.
I had to cut out the bushings of the new shocks and use the stock bushings temporarily.

The part number if anyone wants to know

Here they are on.
They are yellow they kind look like OME's lol

I will be getting some energy suspension bushings from summit for this app so they work correctly.

As far as the road test a lot less swag in the rear. The old shocks weren't doing much so you know the story.
I have to fully articulate it for sure to tell u how I like them.
I am sure I gained some down travel about 4+ more but lost some up travel about -3.35" so the tires won't be rubbing the rear upper fender wells likely anymore.
I also figure what the hell if I change around the rear shock mounts I already have longer shocks to accommodate a lift or different springs.

Ok well it's been a while since I updated but here's what's gone on.

I got a set of free 4.56 differentials put those in.
I replaced the radiator that was bad barely any fins left in it.
I upgraded the battery to a optima red top.
Put some longer yellow monroe shocks in the back.

I got some big ass ghey 7" lights on the front.

Currently on order coming soon

winch plate
smittybuilt xrc8 winch.

next project deal with either replacement or put in longer rear springs.
