Please help my son get his stolen pick up running again
« on: Jan 16, 2007, 03:41:17 PM »
Does any one have the fuse box diagram that will tell us what individual fuses do?

Our 88 was stolen and when it was recovered it was full of stolen mail and the fuses were all removed and the starter was gone.  After the police did their thing we were left with some electrical issues.  It is a 4 cyl. gas
Where is a good place to go to get the oddball size fuses they have larger than normal spade type connectors, We have not had any trouble replacing the standard fuses with the small spade type male connectors.  On the fuse box cover it says one is AMZ 30A One says AM1 40A and the third says Glow AM1 80 A  The Chilton type manuals are not much help.

Thank you

I would check the junk yards, those type of fuses last forever and from 85 and all the between years should have the same setup as your 88 and even up to the 1995 22r motors.  As long as they're fuel injected which shouldn't be an issue since fuel injection was introduced to alot of the trucks in 85.  Come to think of it my carbed 84 has a couple of fuses that size.

If you want to get robbed again then ask the dealerships and see if they have em but that would be last resort.

Hope this helps

If you have a pic n pull near you i would start looking there, all the fuses from early to mid 80`s should be the same, you can also look in the same year toyota cars, they use the same fuses as the trucks. also, the 80 amp fuse does not pull out like the other fuses, you will have to pull the fuse holder out of the fuse box and remove two screws to remove and replace that fuse.
