Do a spring over on it and dont look back.  You dont need a cut and turn for the rear.  www.Cruiseroutfitters.com can get you a cut and turn front axle for pretty cheap.  A spring under is stiff and does not flex very well.

Use stck springs and upgrade yor knuckles to mini truck and get high steer from marlin.  If you can get everything from a mini truck front end from the knuckles out it is a direct replacement of your knuckles and you will then have disc brakes and stronger bilfs, and knuckles.

Trac bars you would be better off making your own.  They are pretty simple to make.

Convert to the Chevy box and pump. When you do the spring over and crossover steering you're going to have to change box's anyway. Their is lots of good info on that conversion. Just about every cruiser around is using about the same setup.

Well the info that megolfer about cruiser outfitters is good. You only need to have front "turned". You can usually fit 35's with a spring over and stock springs. If you want to be taller i've heard good things about old man emu springs, but some more reseach on that wouldn't hurt. You probably won't need traction bars, but it will also depend on tire size, power and what you are doing with your rig.

If you want to keep your pinion in one piece you need an anti rap bar w/the the soa. I've snapped 4 pinions fine spline and course with out a bar.

check these guys out also for the cut&turn housing http://www.proffittscruisers.com/parts/proffitt.html

both outfitters and proffitts are good shops

35"s are are on the smaller side with a soa, 37"s are just about perfect. A soa is gonna give you 5-6" of lift. Adding taller springs is really gonna raise the cog beyond stable.

If your working on a FJ60, the stock steering box is fine. no need to go GM(won't fit w/out a lot of work)

Marlins hy-steer is what you want for an upgrade

badass thanks for the reccomendations.  I am definately going 60.  35s or 37s and hy steer.  Looking to do some wheeling, camping, bogging and going to work.  Maybe I can even drive over some cars.

do you think 37s are too big with stock springs on a soa? Too big for highway driving? How do I know where to weld the perches on the axle?

I have 37's on my FJ40 and can cruise 80mph down the freeway with my hands off the wheel.  37.s might be hard to fit on a 55 or 60 without a lot of fender trimming.

If you buy the housing already cut and turned it may also come with the perches on. They will probably be able to set it up just by the info you give them (springs, shackle reversal, cruiser model, etc)
If you do your own the easiest way to set up the spring perches (if you haven't done a bunch of them) is to cut the old perches and anything else you don't need off and clean it up, then roll the axle under the rig. Set the new perches on the axle and jack it up to the springs. Then rotate the pinion to the angle you want and make sure you jack it up so the springs are taking the weight and make sure the pinion angle is still how you want it. When everything looks good tack the plates. Then you can drop it back down and finish weld them.
Then cut and turn the knuckles to reset the caster.
A coworker has a sprung over 60 on 35's, i'll ask him how they fit and if he thinks 37's will fit. (it may be for sale too, not sure where you're located. it needs a shackle reversal and it has a bad rod knock, so new motor too. really could use a V8 for the size rig)

I'm pretty sure they are just the stock leaf packs. I'm going back to work tomorrow, so hopefully i'll be able to talk with him. I'll try and get a pic too.
