82 Toyota 4x4 Trans
« on: Sep 24, 2003, 08:29:00 PM »
I have a friend that is in need of a transmission for a 82 Yota 4x4. Needs to be reasonably priced. She is located in Lake County, will travel or pay for shipping.

Thanks.

All righty then, looks like Barstow has fallen off of the map, anyone else have a 5 speed trans for an 83 Toyota 4x4 for sale.

She has an 83 yota 4x4 with 5 speed. If the L52 is a 5 speed it is probably the right one, or I assume it is. The tranny is still onboard so I haven't had a chance to look at it. I bought one for myself last year from this board for an 83 4x4 and think it was an L52.
I also assume to tranny is in good condition, no growls, howls or rattles from the syncros or bearings?
Idaho is a bit far to travel, would you be willing to ship?
Thank you for the reply.

Sorry- dissappeared there for a while. The tranny worked very well with no problems for me. I took it out as I am working on putting in 4.3 and nv4500. The difficulty I would have would be in shipping due to the size. I have attempted to ship tires before and it was going to kill me. I am going to get all of my stuff from storage this weekend and will have some better infromation on it. I am assuming that it will still be there, (at a friends house who no longer can help me build my truck) I would love it if it would go to a good home as I do not need it anymore.
From my memory the L52 is an early '83 tranny. If I forget to check here you can always e-mail me at marvin82@lycos.com

I have a tranny that came out of a first generation 4X. I need the t-case though. not sure if it is a 5 spd. shifter is really sloppy, may need rebuild. Is she in lake county, Ca! because that is where I am. If interested I will let it go for a good deal.

Hey maggot, thanks for the message. Let me know what you discover. About shipping, it sure is hard to find reasonable prices when it comes to getting stuff from point A to point B.

Icrunner, yes she is in Lake county. I'll send you my phone number at your email address, give me a call if you would so we can talk further. Thanks, Dave.
